A terrestrial herb 30-55 cm tall, with clustered pubescent stems. Leaves four to five, elliptic to elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, ciliate, 10-21 cm long, 4.6-8.5 cm wide, glabrous above and below, subtended by three sheaths. Inflorescence usually two- to three-flowered; peduncle glandular-pubescent; bracts lanceolate, acuminate, 4.5-11 cm long, 1-3 cm wide, ciliate. Flowers entirely greenish yellow, green or yellow with a glossy yellow lip marked with red on the veins within and towards the base; ovary 2.5-4 cm long, densely glandular hairy. Dorsal sepal lanceolate, acuminate, 3.2-4.5 cm long, 1-1.5 cm wide; synsepaI ovate, bifid and acuminate at the apex, 3.3-4 cm long, 1-1.5 cm wide. Petals not twisted, linear-lanceolate, acuminate, 3.7-5 cm long, 0.5-0.8 cm wide, pubescent on the mid-rib of the outer surface, villose at base on inner surface. Lip ellipsoidal, indented on main veins, 1.5-2.7 cm long, 1.4-1.7 cm in diameter, and a small orifice; side lobes obliquely oblong. Column 6-9 mm long; stigma oblong, obtuse, obscurely papillose; staminode stalked, oblong-elliptic, obtuse or slightly apiculate, 6-7 mm long, conduplicate with the lateral margins incurved somewhat, yellow or green with red marks towards the apex.
