A terrestrial or lithophytic herb. Leaves 2–5 per growth, oblong-lanceolate to oblanceolate, bifid at the more or less obtuse apex, 10–23 cm long, 1.9–4.5 cm wide, light gren, veined and mottled darker green on upper surface, sap-green beneath, the margins slightly undulate and ciliate towards the base. Inflorescence erect, 15–25 cm long, one- or rarely two-flowered; peduncle sometimes subtended by a oblong, conduplicate sheath, up to 10 cm long and 1 cm broad, densely reddish villose; bract elliptic, conduplicate, acute, 1.5–2.2 cm long, 1 cm wide, ciliate and pubescent on mid-vein on outer surface. Flower erect, sepals white with green venation, often suffused with green at the base, petals olive-green at base, purple in apical half, densely finely spotted with black on margins and inner surface, the lip and staminode green with darker venation; pedicel and ovary 3–3.5 cm long, densely shortly pubescent. Dorsal sepal erect, ovate, acute, 2.9–4 cm long, 2–3.5 cm wide, ciliate, pubescent on outer surface. Synsepal deeply concave, oblong-elliptic to oblong-ovate, obtuse, 2.2–4.5 cm long, 1.2–2 cm wide, ciliate, pubescent on outer surface. Petals borne at 20 to 45 degrees below the horizontal, somewhat reflexed, linear-falcate to oblanceolate-subspathulate, obtuse to obscurely 3-lobed at apex, 3.5–5.5 cm long, 0.8–1.4 cm wide, ciliate. Lip narrowly and deeply saccate, up to 4.1–5 cm long, 2–2.5 cm wide, densely shortly hairy all over outer surface; side lobes incurved bearing raised brownish warts on outer surface. Column short, 1 cm long, shortly pubescent on stalk; staminode lunate with a central short mucro on lower side, 0.9–1.1 cm long, 0.7 cm wide, finely pubescent.
