A terrestrial herb with clustered growths. Leaves coriaceous, oblong, rounded, 12–35 cm long, 5–6 cm wide, green. Inflorescence 3- to 5-flowered; peduncle 25–40 cm long, purple, densely purple-hairy; bracts ovate, obtuse to shortly acuminate, 2.5–3 cm long, 1.4–2 cm wide, pubescent. Flowers with white sepals and petals veined with maroon and a greenish yellow lip and staminode; pedicel and ovary 2.5–3 cm long, purple-pubescent. Dorsal sepal ovate, subacute, 3.2–4.2 cm long, 1.8–2.2 cm wide, shortly ciliate. Synsepal ovate, obtuse, 2.8–3.2 cm long, 1.8–2 cm wide, shortly ciliate. Petals deflexed, arcuate, linear, obtuse, 3.8–4.5 cm long, 0.4–0.6 cm wide, ciliate. Lip rounded and grooved at apex, 2.8–3.2 cm long, 1.2–1.5 cm wide. Staminode convex, subquadrateobovate, truncate or very shortly apiculate, farinose-pubescent on sides, 5 mm long, 4 mm wide. 2n = 26.
