A terrestrial or lithophytic herb with long fleshy roots, 5–8 mm in diameter. Leaves 8–10, suberect, ligulate, rounded, 20–80 cm long, 5–12 cm wide, dark green. Inflorescence 5–19- flowered, arcuate, 40–95 cm long; peduncle and rhachis ochre-grren, glabrous; bracts elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, 3.5–5 cm long, 1–1.8 cm wide, greenish-ochre, striped purple. Flowers 8–16.6 cm across; sepals whitish with dark red-brown or dark brown venation; petals green, veined with red or brown; lip olive-green to ochre with darker veins; staminode yellow; ovary and pedicel 4.2–6.5 cm long, glabrous. Dorsal sepal ovate, acute to acuminate, 3.5–6.5 cm long, 1.9–4 cm wide, finely pubescent on outside, obscurely ciliate in apical half. Synsepal ovate-lanceolate, acute to acuminate, 3.5–6.4 cm long, 2–2.6 cm wide, 2-keeled on back, obscurely ciliate in apical half. Petals deflexed, slightly spirally twisted, falcate, linear-tapering, acute, 5–10.8 cm long, 0.6–1.1 cm wide, finely and minutely glandular in apical half, ciliate. Lip rather sharp at apex, grooved behind, 3.3–6 cm long, 0.9–1.9 cm wide, with acute incurved auricles. Staminode convex, subquadrate, obtuse and upcurved at apex, 9–15 mm long, 5–10
mm wide, with brownish farinose-pubescent sides.
