A terrestrial herb with clustered growths. Leaves 4–6, narrowly elliptic, obtuse or subacute and minutely tridenticulate at apex, up to 18 cm long, 4 cm wide, obscurely tessellated dark and light on upper surface, sparsely ciliate on basal margins. Inflorescence 1-flowered; peduncle up to 32 cm long, pale purple, pubescent; bract ovate, 1.4–2.4 cm long, green, pubescent. Flower with sepals and petals white, veined green and an ochre to purple lip; ovary 3.6–6.6 cm long, green, pubescent. Dorsal sepal broadly ovate, acute to shortly acuminate, 3–4.5 cm long, 3.2–4.8 cm wide. Synsepal concave, elliptic, 2.3–3.4 cm long, 1.8–2.1 cm wide. Petals recurved, ligulate, acute, 4.6–5.5 cm long, 1–1.4 cm wide, ciliate, black-warted on margins. Lip 3.8–4.8 cm long, 2.2–2.6 cm wide, ciliate on apical margin; side-lobes incurved, warted. Staminode obovate, auriculate at base, somewhat angled on sides, apically three-toothed with elongate falcate side-teeth, 8–10 mm long, 7–10 mm wide. 2n = 36.
